Peter Dopulos
Peter Dopulos is a stone sculptor based in Long Beach California. His art is collected by a diverse clientele, and he successfully shows throughout Southern California. Peter sculpts pieces using the traditional hammer and hand chisel method used by ancient masters and rarely seen in the modern world.
Peter Dopulos is a co-founder of First Fridays Long Beach. First Fridays is an art collective which has brought new vitality and urgency to Bixby Knolls in Long Beach. As a result of his efforts, Peter won the Human Dignity Award from the Long Beach Human Dignity Commission in September of 2007.
In addition to his contributions to our community through the arts, Peter is a classically trained chef, and has owned bi-coastal catering operations. Peter has been a personal chef for a family in Greenwich Connecticut, and just recently laid down his knives after 17 years in the business.
Flask and Pen is the penultimate accomplishment for Peter –a web publishing project that began in Los Angeles and has spread like wildfire to San Francisco, New York, Philadelphia, Boston, San Diego, Seattle, Miami, and Detroit.
Peter Dopulos attended University of California at San Diego and the Culinary Institute of America.
Peter is a resident of Long Beach California, and was raised in Buena Park California.

Keith Lewis
In 2004, Keith opened Oasis Coffeehouse in the Cal Heights area of Long Beach. His vision for the coffeehouse was to provide an outlet for local artists to display their art and provide the community with a place to see ever changing exhibits. At that time he met Peter Dopulos a chef whose true passion was sculpting. Together they expanded the coffeehouses programs to include a Chess Club for elementary school children, a book exchange program and an art gallery.
Based on the success of the Oasis Coffeehouse art event, in 2006, Keith, Peter and Chroma Glass owner Krista Leaders started First Fridays Long Beach. Taking place on the first Friday of each month, First Fridays brings together artists, businesses and the local community in Bixby Knolls by creating a free art event. The event began at Chroma Glass Designs but now includes over a dozen different businesses; artists, musicians, and crafters; and thousands of local citizens.
In 2007, Keith and Peter created Flask and Pen, a website that sparks thought, discussion, and diversity in an effort to encourage literacy through an exchange of ideas and communication through the written word.
